You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and setup of CNC woodworking machinery, producing accurate components from plywood, timber and other panel products. This is more than an operator role. You will be a qualified and experienced wood machinist who can confidently operate and set up CNC machinery, interpret technical drawings and has some experience preparing or modifying DXF files.
You will play an important role in developing and improving CNC machining capabilities and will have the opportunity to take increasing ownership of the machining process.
Key responsibilities
- Setting up and operating CNC woodworking machinery
- Preparing, checking and modifying DXF files for CNC production
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings
- Selecting appropriate tooling and machining processes
- Setting machine parameters and optimising cutting performance
- Producing accurate components to specified tolerances
- Inspecting finished products and maintaining quality standards
- Identifying and resolving machining issues
- Performing routine machine maintenance and housekeeping
- Assisting with the development and improvement of CNC processes
About you
- A recognised trade qualification in wood machining, cabinet making, joinery or a related field
