Primary objective
Develop, coordinate, review and support project, policy and alignment to outcomes through evaluation practices of the
Programs and Reform team with Community Corrections.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Provide effective project management for the Sentencing and other Legislative Reform and initiatives, including the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
- Lead the development, implementation, maintenance, review and publishing of policy documents associated with reform projects, ensuring a high level of accuracy, with a strong focus on attention to detail
- Manage information and the timely production of high quality internal and external project proposals, reports, briefs and communications
- Oversee the research and preparation of memoranda, reports, briefing notes, policy documents, and correspondence including ministerial correspondence, legislative briefings and submissions for the Department.
- Developing and delivering training and information sessions to internal and external stakeholders
Selection criteria
Essential
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of Community Corrections operations, or ability to gain sector specific knowledge quickly.
- Demonstrated project management skills including planning, implementation, compliance monitoring and reporting practices to meet project milestones, time and quality targets.
- Proven high-level organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure, exercise initiative, complete tasks in a timely manner and work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the development, implementation, maintenance, review and publishing of policy documents ensuring a high level of accuracy and with a strong focus on attention to detail.
- Demonstrated high-level interpersonal oral and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare high level correspondence and with ability to interact effectively with people of various skilled levels.
- Demonstrated flexibility to manage projects and tasks effectively, while often navigating work practice changes and shifting priorities and working under pressure to meet deadlines.
Desirable
- Qualification in law, social sciences, public policy, project management or a related field.
