A core responsibility of the role is the efficient management of the end-to-end tender process and contract management with a significant focus of Information Technology (IT) and digital services contracts.

This includes reviewing and preparing tender scopes and technical documentation for ICT goods and services, establishing appropriate tender approaches, managing procurement processes; assessing and recommending submissions; and engaging contractors in consultation with ICT, cyber security, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment with Council standards, architectures, security requirements, and governance frameworks.





The Contract Manager is responsible for planning and monitoring contract administration activities, including cost control, forecasting, financial reporting, and procurement arrangements. This includes managing contracts with a robust technology or digital services component to ensure value for money, continuity of critical IT services, service availability, and delivery of agreed outcomes while maintaining required service levels, security, and compliance obligations.

The role ensures that contract deliverables meet stakeholder expectations through structured communication, reporting, governance forums, and performance monitoring. It involves identifying efficiencies and opportunities for improvement across technology contracts, managing contract-related risks (including operational, cyber security, and technology lifecycle risks), developing and implementing mitigation measures, and resolving contract issues.
