We are seeking a skilled and experienced Data Lead to support one of clients in the education sector. This chance is offered as a full-time 18-month contract, based in Adelaide CBD.

Role Overview The Data Lead holds operational accountability for the critical data migration workstream within the Business Digital Transformation Program. This role is responsible for leading the end-to-end migration of data from the legacy Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to a new CRM platform, ensuring data quality, integrity, and successful deployment outcomes.

The Data

Lead provides specialist expertise across the full migration lifecycle, manages data-related risks, and works closely with internal stakeholders and external delivery partners to support a seamless business transformation.

Responsibilities

- Lead and manage the end-to-end data migration workstream from the legacy CRM platform to the new CRM solution.
- Conduct data discovery, profiling, quality assessments, and cleansing activities to ensure migration readiness.
- Develop and maintain data mapping documentation, transformation rules, and migration specifications.
- Design and oversee ETL processes, data loads, reconciliation activities, and migration testing cycles.
- Coordinate migration cutover activities and post-migration validation to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
- Identify, assess, and manage migration risks, issues, dependencies, and data quality concerns.




- Collaborate with business stakeholders to validate migration requirements and resolve complex data issues.
- Work closely with external implementation partners to ensure alignment on migration strategy, execution, and delivery timelines.
- Provide expert advice and recommendations to the Program Director and project leadership on migration activities and outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and auditable records across all migration artefacts, including mapping registers, test results, cutover plans, and validation reports.
- Prepare status reports, risk assessments, and migration progress updates for governance forums and stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement by applying lessons learned and identifying opportunities to strengthen migration processes and data quality practices.

What your day-to-day will look like:

- Analyse and assess source system data to identify quality issues and migration requirements.
- Develop and validate field mappings, transformation logic, and migration rules.
- Facilitate workshops with business stakeholders to review data quality findings and confirm business requirements.
- Execute and review migration testing, reconciliation activities, and defect resolution.
- Monitor migration milestones, risks, and dependencies to ensure delivery remains on track.
- Collaborate with system vendors and implementation partners on migration planning and execution.
- Prepare migration reports, dashboards, and governance documentation for program leadership.

Preferred Experience





- Proven experience leading or managing large-scale data migration projects within complex enterprise or government environments.
- Robust expertise across the full migration lifecycle, including data discovery, mapping, cleansing, transformation, testing, cutover, and validation.
- Experience working with CRM platforms and enterprise business systems.
- Demonstrated proficiency using data analysis and manipulation tools such as SQL, Excel, or equivalent technologies.
- Practical experience designing and executing data mappings, transformation rules, and migration load sequences.
- Strong understanding of relational data structures, data governance, and data quality frameworks.
- Experience managing vendors, implementation partners, and multiple stakeholder groups.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and risk management capabilities.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

- Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- Certification or formal training in data management, data migration, project delivery, or related disciplines will be highly regarded.

Appointment to this position is subject to the successful completion of a Working With Children Check (WWCC) and a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC), with outcomes deemed satisfactory.
