Electrical Engineering —
- AI Data Trainer
About The Role
We partner with the world's leading AI research labs to build and train cutting-edge AI models — and we need electrical engineers who know their domain cold. As an AI Data Trainer, you'll stress-test advanced language models on real engineering challenges, expose their blind spots, and help shape the next generation of AI reasoning.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role. You set your schedule and work on your own terms.
- Organization: Alignerr
- Type: Hourly Contract
- Location: Remote
- Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
- Design Challenging Problems —
- Craft advanced electrical engineering problems across circuit analysis, power systems, signal processing, electromagnetics, and more to probe the limits of AI performance
- Author Gold-Standard Solutions —
- Write rigorous, step-by-step solutions that serve as the benchmark the AI learns from
- Audit Technical Accuracy —
- Review AI-generated code, circuit diagrams, and mathematical proofs for correctness, safety, and compliance with engineering standards (IEEE, NEC, etc.)
- Sharpen AI Reasoning —
- Identify flawed logic and reasoning gaps in AI responses, then provide structured feedback to improve how the model thinks through engineering problems
- Document Failure Modes —
- Systematically record where and how AI models break down so those weaknesses can be addressed
Who You Are
- Pursuing or holding a Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a closely related field
- Solid foundational knowledge in one or more core domains: VLSI, control systems, signal processing, telecommunications, power electronics, or embedded systems
- Able to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and precisely in writing
- High attention to detail when reviewing equations, circuit logic, and technical documentation
- Self-directed and comfortable working independently in an async environment
- No prior AI experience required — your engineering expertise is what matters
Nice to Have
- Experience with data annotation, technical writing, or evaluation workflows
- Familiarity with simulation tools (MATLAB, SPICE, etc.)
- Background in engineering standards bodies or technical review processes
Why Join Us
- Work on genuinely cutting-edge AI projects alongside top research labs
- Fully remote and async — work when and where it suits you
- Freelance flexibility with the potential for long-term, ongoing contracts
- Gain rare behind-the-scenes insight into how advanced LLMs are built and trained
- Your expertise directly influences how AI understands and reasons about engineering
