Employment: Full-time

Are you an electrician looking for something different?

If you're a qualified electrician or electrical/instrumentation technician who enjoys fault finding, testing, working with electrical instrumentation and getting out into the field, this could be an opportunity to take your career in a completely different direction!

CCE is looking for an Electrician / Corrosion Technician to join our Queensland team.

Previous corrosion or cathodic protection experience is not essential.

We're open to training technically capable electricians who are interested in developing expertise in the specialised field of cathodic protection and corrosion control.

You'll work alongside experienced corrosion technicians and engineers while developing the specialist knowledge and practical skills required to test, monitor, install and maintain cathodic protection systems.

For candidates who already have cathodic protection experience, we're equally interested in hearing from you and can consider appointment at a level appropriate to your experience and qualifications.

What is Cathodic Protection?

Cathodic protection is an electrical technique used to prevent corrosion and extend the life of critical infrastructure.

CCE's technicians work across assets and industries including pipelines, water infrastructure, marine environments, resources, defence and other major infrastructure.

The work involves a combination of electrical testing, instrumentation, fault finding, field measurements, system installation and technical problem solving — making electrical experience highly transferable to the role.

- Assist with field surveys, testing and commissioning.

- Identify system performance issues and assist with troubleshooting.

- Maintain accurate field records and technical documentation.

- Work alongside corrosion engineers and experienced technicians.

- Liaise professionally with clients and other contractors on site.

- Work across different client, infrastructure and project environments.

- Follow CCE and client safety, quality and environmental requirements.

The existing CCE technician framework also incorporates ongoing technical development and AMPP cathodic protection training.

CCE's existing senior technician requirements recognise experience across areas including pipelines, oil and gas, marine, water, defence and similar infrastructure.

Build a Specialist Career

This isn't about walking away from your electrical skills.
