Ascentia Academy is a premium mentoring boutique based in NSW targeted at students who are aiming higher in every facet of their lives. What the role looks like:
- Running online sessions 1:1 or with a small (capped at 6) class of students around the 7-12 English Syllabus (primarily focused on grades 10-12)
- Instilling the principles of English; comprehension skills, critical thinking, literacy and a passion for reading to students who (might not even value it), but need it the most in today's day and age.
- Providing detailed, personalised essay feedback, inside and outside of class sessions to support student learning
- Being available to students between sessions via direct message to answer questions and queries
- Contributing to a passionate and driven team that holds excellence as its standard
What we're looking for:
- Minimum 94 in HSC Advanced English or a 93 in HSC Standard English (with a State Rank in either highly considered)
- Strong teaching skills - specifically the ability to explain and break down complex concepts for others to understand, not just know and regurgitate
- Passion for English and teaching
- Genuine interest in helping students improve (even beyond academics), not just marking their work.
- Reliability and professionalism in how you show up
- Willing to invest 10-15 hours weekly into this role
