We are currently welcoming teachers across Year 1–12 English, from primary and junior secondary English through to VCE English. Whether you bring strong teaching experience or outstanding academic results and exceptional English skills, we would love to hear from you if you can explain ideas clearly, connect with students and make English engaging.
About Austin Education
Founded in Melbourne in 2013, Austin Education provides high-quality academic tutoring for students from Year 1 to Year 12.
Our teaching team includes experienced school teachers, professional tutors and high-achieving graduates and university students. We care deeply about teaching quality, student outcomes and creating an environment where strong teachers are recognised and supported.
The Role
Depending on your strengths and experience, you may teach one or more of the following:
- Year 1–6 English
- Year 7–10 English
- VCE English
You do not need to be able to teach every year level. We are very happy to hear from teachers who are particularly strong in a specific age group or area of English. Classes may include small-group, group or one-on-one teaching depending on your experience, availability and teaching strengths.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for people who:
- Have strong academic ability and a genuine command of English
- Are engaging,
patient and able to build strong rapport with students
- Take teaching seriously and care about students' progress
- Are reliable, professional and well prepared
Previous tutoring or teaching experience is highly regarded, particularly experience teaching in an Australian educational context. For VCE English teachers, solid knowledge of the Victorian curriculum and demonstrated experience teaching or tutoring VCE English will be highly valued.
Experience in areas such as debating, public speaking, writing, school leadership or other communication-focused activities is also highly regarded.

Availability
Teaching is primarily outside school hours, including weekday afternoons/evenings and weekends. The commencement date is flexible and can be discussed with successful candidates.
