Hybrid work arrangements, Parramatta 4PSQ. Office attendance required 2 – 3 days per week.
This role sits within the NSW Fair Trading Division in the Strata and Property Compliance team.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within NSW Fair Trading for an Inspector.
We are seeking motivated and professional inspectors to carry out investigations, inspections, and compliance activities that ensure fair trading practices and protect NSW consumers. You will play an important role in promoting compliance through education, enforcement, and collaboration with stakeholders across industry and community sectors.

About the Role
- Conduct investigations, inspections, and compliance activities in the field
- Ensure adherence to legislation.
- Participate in proactive compliance operations to educate licence holders and traders on their rights and obligations.
- Provide advice to customers and stakeholders to maximise regulatory outcomes. Gather and review evidence and prepare reports and submissions to support decision-making.
- Maintain accurate and compliant records in accordance with legislative and procedural requirements.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share knowledge and contribute to a professional, high-performing team.
To Be Successful in This Role You Will Have:
- Demonstrated experience in compliance, investigation, or regulatory operations.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in dynamic environments.
- Commitment to integrity, fairness, and professional conduct.
Essential Requirements
- Satisfactory criminal history check.
- Certificate IV in Government Investigations or similar qualification
- Current NSW driver’s licence and ability to travel throughout NSW for fieldwork.
- Understanding of regulatory frameworks, compliance principles, and the application of legislation.
- Preparedness to participate in mandatory pre-employment and ongoing probity screening in accordance with legislation and policy.

Salary Grade XX, with the base salary for this role starting at 102,936 base plus superannuation
