- Identify potential risks and provide recommendations to mitigate cost overruns.
- Lead end-to-end tender submissions from initial enquiry through to contract award.
- Develop tender strategies, methodologies and submission programmes.
- Prepare detailed first-principles estimates, quantity take-offs and pricing models.
- Source and evaluate supplier and subcontractor pricing.
- Collaborate with project, engineering and operational teams throughout the tender lifecycle.
- Mentor junior estimators and contribute to estimating best practice.
- Facilitate project handovers and provide commercial support during delivery.
A successful Estimator should have:
- A practical approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
- 8+ years' estimating experience within electrical, utilities, infrastructure or renewable energy sectors.
- Proven track record delivering complex construction tenders valued above $1M.
- Strong first-principles estimating and cost-planning capability.
- Sound understanding of subcontractor procurement and market pricing.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience assessing project risk and contracts.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong analytical capability.
- Experience in HV substations, transmission, ASP, BESS or renewable infrastructure highly regarded.
