Our longtime front bar and social club lead — 30 years at this venue — has just retired. We need someone to step into that spot on the floor: running the front bar, building the kind of rapport regulars remember, and keeping the room feeling looked after. This is a floor role, not a supervisory one — you'll be doing the job, not watching it happen.
Why we're hiring The venue goes from a quiet dozen people to a full house of 60 inside about 30 minutes most Saturdays, between 3:30 and 5:30pm — the toughest stretch of the week. We need someone steady enough to run that shift without it turning into a scramble.
What you'll do
- Run the front bar day to day — service, cleanliness, atmosphere
- Build real rapport with regulars — someone people come in to have a drink with, not just be served by
- Work TAB and Keno at attendant level
- Sell and support raffles, the Booze Wheel and other front bar promotions
- Cover food service and table running when the bistro is busy
- Work with management on drink specials and promotions — real input, not just execution
- Manage your own section during service: pace, cleanliness, keeping the room comfortable
Hours
Thursday and Friday from 3pm, Saturday 11:30am–8:30pm. Extending to Tuesday/Wednesday once 8-ball season restarts.
What we need from you
- Current RSA
- Genuine hands-on hospitality experience — you've worked a busy bar, not watched one
- A level head under volume — you don't freeze when it gets loud and quick
- The ability to talk to anyone — regulars, punters, tradies, families
Reliability — this roster runs whether you're feeling it or not
