Charles Elena is urgently recruiting a Full Stack Engineer to join a specialist technology team within a major Australian financial institution. This is a hands-on engineering role spanning both front-end and back-end development, delivering high-quality, scalable solutions within a fast-paced enterprise environment.

About You

You are an accomplished Full Stack Engineer comfortable across the entire development stack — from building responsive, intuitive front-end interfaces through to scalable back-end services and APIs. You write clean, well-tested code, collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, and thrive in agile delivery environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, test, and maintain full stack applications across front-end and back-end layers
- Build scalable, secure, and resilient services and APIs
- Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices
- Produce and maintain technical documentation
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, identifying and implementing root-cause fixes




- Contribute to continuous improvement of development, testing, and deployment processes
- Work within CI/CD pipelines and cloud-based infrastructure

Required Experience & Skills

- Proven full stack development experience across modern front-end frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue) and back-end technologies (Java, Node.js, Python, or similar)
- Strong experience with RESTful API design and development
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases
- Solid understanding of CI/CD practices and source control (Git)
- Experience working within Agile delivery teams
- Working knowledge of AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or similar
- Financial services or banking experience highly regarded
- A self-sufficient and resourceful operator who works efficiently under pressure and delivers without the need for hand-holding
- Comfortable operating with confidence and composure in quick-paced, high-pressure environments

Qualifications

Must be located in Sydney with full working rights. A tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline is advantageous.
