Job Title- ERP Functional Consultant

Location – Sydney, CTH , Full time

Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced Functional Consultant with extensive expertise in the Equipment Hire (Rental) industry to support the design and delivery of a bespoke Quote & Hire Management platform. The ideal candidate will possess deep functional knowledge of the complete Hire-to-Return lifecycle and be capable of translating business operations into scalable system capabilities by working closely with Business Stakeholders, Product Owners, Architects, and Development teams.

Candidates with prior experience implementing ERP Rental Management solutions or participating in enterprise software development projects will be highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

- Act as the functional authority for Equipment Hire/Rental business processes and commercial operations.
- Define and validate end-to-end Hire-to-Return workflows, business rules, rental contract lifecycle, and pricing models.
- Drive functional solution design for Quote Management, Hire Management, Rental Contracts, Pricing, Fleet Operations, Billing, and Asset Management capabilities.
- Work closely with Product Owners, Solution Architects, UX Designers, and Development teams to translate business requirements into functional system capabilities.
- Lead business workshops, analyse business processes, and recommend industry best practices.
- Prepare and review functional artefacts including business process flows, functional requirements, user stories, use cases, business rules, and acceptance criteria.
- Support solution design, integration, testing, UAT, production rollout,



and post-implementation activities.
- Identify opportunities for process optimisation and ensure alignment with business objectives and operational standards.

Required Skills & Experience

- 5- 10 years of experience as a Domain SME, Functional Consultant, Solution Consultant, or Product Consultant in the Equipment Hire/Rental industry.
- Strong knowledge of the complete Hire-to-Return lifecycle, including Quotation, Rental Contracts, Equipment Allocation, Delivery, Extensions, Renewals, Equipment Swaps, Off-Hire, Returns, Billing, and Invoicing.
- Extensive functional knowledge of ERP Rental Management, Contract Management, Fleet Management, Pricing, or Commercial Operations modules.
- Strong understanding of pricing strategies, customer agreements, contract pricing, approval workflows, billing processes, and commercial operations.
- Experience working on ERP implementations, enterprise application development, or digital transformation initiatives.
- Ability to produce functional documentation such as Functional Requirements, User Stories, Use Cases, Business Rules, Process Flows, and Acceptance Criteria.
- Robust stakeholder management, workshop facilitation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments alongside software engineering teams.

Preferred Experience

- Experience with ERP platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, Oracle, IFS, Infor, Texada, Wynne Systems, MCS Rental Software, Point of Rental, or similar Rental Management solutions.
- Experience working on bespoke software development or modernization projects for Quote-to-Hire, Rental Management, or Commercial Operations platforms.
- Exposure to CRM, Pricing Engines, Finance, Asset Management, and enterprise system integrations.
