Role: Google Cloud Platform (GCP) - Data Engineer

Key Experience & Achievements

- Senior-level experience operating and improving production applications on Google Cloud Platform.
- Strong practical experience with Cloud Run, Vertex AI, Cloud SQL, Cloud Storage, Cloud Logging, Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Trace, Cloud Build, Artifact Registry and Terraform.
- Experience supporting AI/ML or generative-AI applications, including model, prompt, agent, evaluation or inference operations.
- Solid Python engineering experience, including FastAPI or similar REST frameworks, asynchronous services, testing and troubleshooting.
- Experience with distributed systems, microservices, REST APIs, API gateways and enterprise integrations.
- Experience implementing CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code with automated validation, security scanning, approvals, promotion and rollback.
- Experience with observability and incident management, including metrics, logs, traces, alerting, root-cause analysis and service-level objectives.
- Strong understanding of identity, access and security controls, including Okta/OIDC, JWTs, IAM, workload identity, Secret Manager, KMS and least-privilege design.
- Experience with production support across multiple environments,



including release coordination, change management and operational documentation.
- Ability to lead technical investigations and communicate clearly with both engineering teams and non-technical stakeholders.

Strongly desirable experience

- Google ADK, Vertex AI Agent Engine, Gemini or other agentic-AI frameworks.
- OpenTelemetry, OTLP, Braintrust, Watchtower, LangFuse or comparable AI observability and evaluation platforms.
- Model evaluation, golden datasets, regression testing, human-in-the-loop review and AI governance controls.
- Model Armor, prompt-injection testing, red teaming, PII/DLP controls and privacy-preserving telemetry.
- MCP or FastMCP, streaming APIs, Server-Sent Events and long-running asynchronous workflows.
- Apigee, Salesforce, AdPoint, Intent Connect, Optima, Google Discovery Engine or comparable enterprise systems.
- Progressive delivery, feature flags, blue/green deployment and automated rollback.
- Cloud cost management, quota management, capacity planning and optimisation of model and infrastructure spend
