Growth & Partnerships Associate
Brisbane, Australia · Full-time
Genome Computer is building the infrastructure that makes the human genome useful.
We provide whole-genome sequencing directly to individuals, clinics and businesses, and have built the Genome API — infrastructure that lets health and technology companies add sequencing and genomic intelligence directly into their own products.
We’re looking for a Growth & Partnerships Associate to help us find the companies and people who should be working with Genome Computer — and start those conversations.
This is an early commercial role in a fast-moving startup. You’ll work directly with the founders to map markets, identify opportunities, build outbound campaigns and turn cold prospects into qualified conversations.
If you’re commercially minded, highly resourceful and like the idea of creating pipeline rather than waiting for it to arrive, we want to hear from you.
What you'll work on
You’ll help build the commercial pipeline across three parts of Genome Computer:
Genome API — finding health, longevity, diagnostics, wellness and technology companies that could integrate sequencing and genomic intelligence into their products.
Genome Computer for Clinics — identifying clinics and healthcare providers that could offer whole-genome sequencing to their patients.
Retail — developing relationships with pharmacies, health retailers and other distribution partners that could bring Genome Computer to a much larger audience.
What you'll do
1. Map target markets and build lists of high-potential companies and decision-makers.
2.
Research organisations to understand where Genome Computer could fit into their product or business.
3. Identify the right people inside those organisations and find effective ways to reach them.
4. Run outbound prospecting across email, LinkedIn, phone and other channels.
5. Write concise, personalised outreach that gets responses.
6. Follow up relentlessly and turn interest into qualified meetings.
7. Source conferences, trade shows and industry events where we should be present.
8. Identify attendees, speakers and companies ahead of events and build targeted meeting lists.
9. Help prepare campaigns around product launches, current markets and industry verticals.
10. Keep our CRM accurate and make sure opportunities keep moving.
11. Experiment with new prospecting tools, datasets, messaging and channels.
12. Track what is working and continuously improve our approach.
13. Ultimately: create qualified commercial opportunities and book meetings.
You won’t be handed a finished sales playbook. Part of the job is helping us build it.
Who we're looking for
You might already be an SDR, BDR, inside-sales rep or commercial associate. Or you might be earlier in your career and unusually good at research, communication and getting things done.
More important than your exact background, we’re looking for someone who:
- Is naturally curious and good at finding things on the internet.
- Can quickly understand a company, its product and who makes decisions there.
- Writes clearly and communicates confidently.
- Is comfortable contacting people who have never heard of us.
- Doesn't get discouraged by unanswered emails or a no.
- Is organised enough to manage hundreds of prospects without dropping things.
- Likes targets and can work backwards from an outcome.
- Moves quickly without needing detailed instructions.
- Is comfortable experimenting with AI and modern sales tools.
- Wants substantially more responsibility than they would get in a large company.
Experience in sales, startups, healthcare, biotech or B2B technology is useful, but you do not need a genomics background.
Why Genome Computer
Genomics is moving from something interpreted occasionally by specialists to something individuals and software can continuously work with.
Genome Computer has built an open, AI-ready genome format alongside sequencing, interpretation and API infrastructure designed to make that possible.
We're a small team, so this role has real leverage. You'll work closely with the founders, have visibility across the entire commercial operation, and have the opportunity to grow with the company as we build out sales and partnerships globally.
Genome Computer is a Public Benefit Corporation with a commitment to keeping individual genetic data under the individual's control.
Based in Brisbane, Australia.
If you're excited by the idea of helping build the commercial engine behind a new category in genomics, we'd like to hear from you.
