Role Description The Head Drainer is responsible for leading drainage crews on civil infrastructure and subdivision projects, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with project specifications and local regulations. Daily tasks include planning and setting out drainage works, supervising installation of pipelines, pits, manholes, and related structures, coordinating with site supervisors and other trades, and inspecting completed work for quality and compliance. The role involves reading and interpreting drawings and plans, organizing materials and equipment, monitoring site conditions, and resolving technical issues that arise during construction.
The Head
Drainer also mentors team members, supports safety toolbox talks,
and maintains accurate records of work completed. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Metro Manila.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in drainage construction, including installation of stormwater and sewer systems, pits, manholes, and related civil structures.
- Ability to read and interpret civil engineering drawings, plans, specifications, and survey set-outs.
- Proven leadership skills in supervising site crews, allocating tasks, and coordinating with site management and other disciplines.
- Sound knowledge of relevant standards, local regulations, and best practices for civil drainage and infrastructure works.
- Commitment to workplace health and safety, including hazard identification, risk mitigation, and adherence to site safety procedures.
- Hands-on experience operating or directing the use of drainage-related equipment and tools (e.g., excavators, compactors, pipe lasers) is highly regarded.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make practical decisions on site and provide clear instructions.
- Previous experience in civil construction, subdivision, or infrastructure projects; trade qualification or certificate in civil construction or a related field is an advantage.
- Willingness to work on-site full-time in Metro Manila and adapt to varying project schedules and weather conditions.
