Western Australia
A landmark. Not another project.
We're building critical national infrastructure: a 1GW hyperscale renewable data and energy hub in the Northern Territory, scaling to a potential 5GW , positioned as Australia's answer to the AI infrastructure gap sweeping the Asia Pacific. This isn't a brownfield handover or a business-as-usual mandate. It's a blank page, although most aspects of the project have already been driven through FEL 2, backed by a delivery team with 200 years of combined mega project experience across BHP, Woodside, Chevron, Fortescue and Rio Tinto.
We're not looking for a caretaker. We're looking for a builder.
That said, you won't be doing this alone. Every aspect of the project has already been taken through FEL 2 and you'll be directly supported by, and working alongside, the rest of the project leadership team. This is a genuine team build and we need someone who wants it to be one.
Who we want
We want people who build, not people who wait to be told what to build. Superstars. Self-starters. Genuinely fresh thinkers who see a blank page as an prospect, not a gap to be filled by someone else. If your instinct on Day 1 is to ask "what's already in place?" rather than "what needs to exist?", this probably isn't for you. If it's the opposite, keep reading.
Our project runs on four principles: Accountable, Resilient, Enduring, Swift, not as a slogan, but as the actual operating standard for how decisions get made and how the team supports each other under pressure, at genuine pace.
What you'll own
- Greenfield EA negotiation. Lead [not support] a single, project wide Enterprise Agreement negotiation with the CFMEU and ETU, built from scratch, including pre-emptive dispute resolution
- Offshore recruitment & accreditation pipeline. Establish an offshore recruitment and training pipeline ahead of mobilisation, including accredited partnerships [e.g. TESDA] to build a work ready overseas trades pipeline
- Remote FIFO workforce leadership. Lead multi-tier workforce sourcing [domestic, UK/NZ/Europe,
Philippines/South East Asia] to meet peak construction demand across power generation and data centre construction programs
- Migration & NT licensing pathways. Own Skills in Demand [482] visa pathways, NT DAMA arrangements, and NT trade licensing [including electrical] for overseas tradespeople, including Australian Context Training delivered offshore
- Indigenous employment & ILUA framework. Design and stand up the Indigenous Employment and Training Framework required under the project's Indigenous Land Use Agreement, including apprenticeship and traineeship targets
What you bring
- 10 years HR/IR leadership on remote FIFO construction megaprojects
- Direct, hands-on experience negotiating greenfield Enterprise Agreements with construction unions, genuinely led, not observed
- LNG megaproject experience highly regarded
- A track record of building, not inheriting, workforce systems, mobilisation processes, and welfare frameworks
- Comfort operating without a playbook, under real pace
- A genuine team player who works in lock-step with the rest of the project leadership team, rather than someone who prefers to operate in isolation
- Based in or willing to relocate to Perth
Why this one's different
- Genuine blank page mandate at senior leadership level. The systems, standards and team you build are yours to define, not inherited from a predecessor, working alongside a leadership team who have already taken the wider project through FEL 2
- Direct line of sight to the Project Director and executive leadership team throughout the build phase, not layers removed from the decisions that matter
- Work on infrastructure of national significance, from early development through to full operation, shaping the workforce strategy years before most of the team you're building even mobilises
- Backed by a delivery team with a genuine 200 year mega project track record, not a startup figuring out execution as it goes
