Australia Based | Frequent Travel to Guangzhou, China & Partner Factories

About the Role

Bronx Banco is seeking an experienced Head of Production & Asia Operations to lead our production operations across China and Asia.

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role responsible for the entire production lifecycle — from approved sample through bulk production and shipment — as well as the management and development of our established Guangzhou production office and sample room.

Bronx Banco operates a substantial office and in-house sample room in Guangzhou, China, supported by an established local team. This role will take leadership of that operation, including the sample room, production team, sourcing, quality control and day-to-day production processes, while also spending significant time visiting and managing our partner factories throughout China.

The position will be based in Australia with frequent travel to Guangzhou and other manufacturing locations throughout China. Some travel to the United States may also be required to work directly with Bronx Banco’s New York leadership, design and commercial teams.

This is not a desk-based production role. We are looking for someone who is comfortable being inside factories, solving problems, negotiating costs, managing people and driving production forward every day.

What You’ll Own

Guangzhou Office & Sample Room

- Lead the day-to-day operations of Bronx Banco’s Guangzhou production office and in-house sample room.
- Manage, evaluate and develop the existing China-based team.
- Oversee sample development from initial handover through approved production sample.
- Ensure the sample room is operating efficiently and meeting development deadlines.
- Establish clear responsibilities, reporting structures, KPIs and accountability across the Guangzhou team.
- Work closely with the New York and Australian teams to ensure design intent is translated accurately into production.

Sourcing & Vendor Management

- Identify, assess and onboard factories that meet Bronx Banco’s quality, capacity, delivery and price requirements.
- Manage and develop relationships with existing partner factories throughout China.
- Allocate production across vendors based on capability, capacity, quality, price and performance.




- Own costing, margin analysis and price negotiations with factories.
- Continuously evaluate vendor performance and production capacity.
- Identify opportunities to improve margins without compromising product quality.
- Build a strong, diversified and reliable factory network capable of supporting the company’s growth.

- Production & Critical Path

- Own the end-to-end production process from approved sample through bulk production and shipment.
- Build and manage the production critical-path calendar across all styles and deliveries.
- Drive daily accountability around production deadlines.
- Identify delays and production risks early and resolve them before they become escalations.
- Conduct regular factory visits to monitor production progress, quality and working conditions.
- Serve as the primary on-the-ground escalation point for production issues throughout China.
- Provide clear and consistent reporting to the U.S. team on production status, risks and delivery.

Quality & Approvals

- Manage the pre-production sample, size-set, fit, PP and bulk-production approval processes.
- Own quality-control standards and inspections across all partner factories.
- Ensure product meets Bronx Banco’s construction, fit and quality standards before shipment.
- Develop and enforce corrective-action plans when quality or delivery issues arise.
- Work closely with technical and design teams to resolve construction and production issues quickly.

Materials & Logistics

- Oversee fabric, trim and component sourcing and delivery.
- Track raw materials against the production calendar and resolve bottlenecks before they affect delivery.
- Coordinate production completion and shipment readiness with the U.S. logistics team.
- Drive improvements in lead times, production efficiency and overall cost.

Team Leadership & Restructuring





- Lead and restructure the existing Guangzhou production operation where necessary.
- Evaluate current staffing, responsibilities and performance.
- Build a clear organizational structure and reporting cadence.
- Develop a culture of accountability, urgency and transparency.
- Recruit or restructure roles where required to build a high-performing production organization.
- Create systems and processes that allow Bronx Banco’s production operation to scale efficiently.

What We’re Looking For

- 8+ years of senior production and/or sourcing management experience within apparel, fashion or wholesale manufacturing.
- Significant hands-on experience working with factories in China.
- Proven experience managing end-to-end apparel production, including costing, critical path, quality control and logistics.
- Experience managing an in-country production office, sample room or manufacturing team is highly desirable.
- Solid factory negotiation skills with a sharp understanding of costing, margins and commercial targets.
- Strong technical understanding of garment construction and production.
- Proven ability to restructure teams and improve processes.
- Comfortable spending significant time inside factories rather than managing production solely through reports.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving ability.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work across Australia, China and U.S. time zones.
- Mandarin is strongly preferred; fluent English is required.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively.

Location & Travel The position will be based in Australia, with frequent travel to Guangzhou, China, where Bronx Banco operates its production office and in-house sample room. The role will also travel regularly to Bronx Banco’s partner factories throughout China and potentially other manufacturing regions in Asia.

Occasional travel to New York may also be required to work directly with Bronx Banco’s U.S. leadership, design, sales and operations teams.

This is a highly hands-on international role, and candidates should be comfortable spending meaningful periods of time in Guangzhou and travelling regularly between Australia, China and the United States.
