Head of Procurement – ANZ | Sydney | A$150,000-180,000 Super | Hybrid (2 days per week)

My client, a large global organisation, is looking for an experienced Head of Procurement to take ownership of the procurement function across Australia and New Zealand.

The procurement function is currently going through a major global transformation, making this an exciting time to join. You will have the opportunity to work closely with an award-winning CPO and be part of a wider journey to transform procurement, elevate its profile and create a best-in-class function.

This is a stand-alone procurement leadership role for ANZ, offering significant autonomy, ownership and senior stakeholder exposure, while being supported by an established regional and global procurement organisation.

The Role

As Head of Procurement – ANZ, you will take end-to-end ownership of procurement across a broad portfolio of indirect categories, including:

- Technology / IT
- Professional Services
- Marketing & Production
- Travel
- Corporate Services
- Other indirect spend categories

You will partner with senior stakeholders to develop and execute procurement strategies, lead complex sourcing initiatives and negotiations, improve supplier performance, and identify opportunities for cost optimisation and wider commercial value.

A key part of the opportunity will be helping to drive the procurement transformation across ANZ, introducing best practice, strengthening governance and challenging existing ways of working.

Key Responsibilities





- Own and lead the procurement strategy across Australia and New Zealand
- Play a key role in a major procurement transformation programme
- Lead strategic sourcing, RFPs, negotiations and contracting across indirect spend
- Build strong relationships with senior and executive-level stakeholders
- Deliver measurable savings, commercial value and supplier improvements
- Manage strategic supplier relationships and commercial risk
- Strengthen procurement governance, processes and ways of working
- Collaborate closely with regional and global procurement leadership

My client is looking for an experienced procurement professional with a strong track record across indirect procurement who is comfortable operating autonomously within a complex international organisation.

You will ideally bring

- Significant end-to-end procurement and strategic sourcing experience
- Broad indirect category expertise
- Strong commercial negotiation and contracting capability
- Experience influencing senior and C-suite stakeholders
- The ability to operate autonomously as the procurement lead for ANZ
- Procurement transformation and change experience
- A strategic mindset combined with a willingness to remain hands-on
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
