Are you a Motor Control specialist who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and helping customers find the right solution?

IPD is excited to introduce a newly created role for a Pre-Sales Solution Engineer - Motor Control Solutions to join our growing Product Management and Marketing team. Reporting to the Business Manager - Pre-Sales & Training, this opportunity can be based in NSW, QLD, or VIC and will play a key role in strengthening our pre-sales capability and supporting the continued growth of our Motor Control portfolio.

Working closely with sales leaders, customers, and internal stakeholders, you will act as the technical expert throughout the customer journey, supporting solution development, product selection, system design, demonstrations, Proof of Concepts (PoCs), and technical training. You'll play a critical role in helping customers solve complex challenges, optimise project outcomes, and unlock the full value of IPD's Motor Control portfolio.

About the role

As the Pre-Sales Solution Engineer -Motor Control, you will provide technical expertise and solution support for IPD's Motor Control portfolio

- Collaborating with sales teams to understand customer requirements and develop tailored Motor Control solutions.
- Designing, presenting, and supporting technical solutions through demonstrations,



Proof of Concepts (PoCs), workshops, training sessions, and technical documentation.
- Providing hands-on technical expertise across Motor Control technologies, including the configuration, commissioning, and diagnostics of Variable Speed Drives (VSDs), Soft Starters, and Motor Control systems.
- Acting as a trusted technical advisor by supporting customers, consultants, OEMs, contractors, and system integrators throughout the sales cycle.
- Building strong customer relationships through technical consultation, site visits, remote engagement, and industry events.
- Partnering with Product Management, Marketing, and technology vendors to provide market feedback, support portfolio growth, and contribute technical content and insights.
- Maintaining technical resources, tracking pre-sales activities and performance metrics, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Sharing technical knowledge and supporting the ongoing development of sales and pre-sales teams.

Skills and Experiences

About You

This role is ideal for a technically skilled professional who enjoys building relationships, solving problems, and working hands-on with Motor Control products

- Tertiary or trade qualifications with 5+ years' experience in Motor Control products and systems are required

- Experience in sales, pre-sales, technical solutions, or technical consulting roles.
- Hands-on experience with Motor Control - configuration and diagnostics
- Experience using CRM systems, developing Proof of Concepts (PoCs), and delivering solution demonstrations.
- Familiarity with industry software, design tools,



and technical documentation.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated planning, organisational, and time management skills.
- Willingness to travel as required.
