As a Kitchen Hand / Chef at Katsu Cafe, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen. Your responsibilities will encompass various aspects of food preparation, cooking, customer service, and maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment. Your role is vital in delivering exceptional Japanese-inspired dishes and service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

- Food Preparation: Assist in ingredient preparation following recipes and guidelines.
- Cooking: Support the kitchen team in cooking dishes according to the menu.
- Deep-Frying: Handle deep-frying operations with quality and safety in mind.
- Plating: Assist in creating appealing and consistent dish presentations.
- Customer Service: Interact with customers, answer questions, and provide recommendations.
- Cleaning Up: Maintain cleanliness and follow food safety regulations.
- Closing Kitchen: Assist with closing procedures and ensure readiness for the next shift.




- Drafting New Items: Collaborate with the chef to create and refine new menu items.
- Taking Initiative: Proactively identify areas for improvement and suggest ideas.

Qualifications:

- Previous kitchen experience preferred but not required.
- Passion for Japanese cuisine and a willingness to learn.
- Attention to detail, strong work ethic, and commitment to high standards.
- Ability to work well in a quick-paced, team-oriented setting.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Adaptability and a positive attitude.
- Initiative and a desire to contribute to the cafe's growth.
