Weinberger Lawyers is a specialist commercial litigation firm working on complex, high-value and time-sensitive matters.

We are a small but high-performing team, and our lawyers work on genuinely substantial matters from the outset. We are growing quickly and are looking for a Law Graduate or Lawyer with 0–3 years PQE to join our team.

This is an opportunity to join a small team working on some very meaty, complex and high-stakes cases. You will not be stuck doing nothing but research and document review. The Role

You will work closely with the Principal and our wider legal team on matters including:

- Commercial litigation

- NCAT and District Court matters
- Constructive trusts and equitable claims
- Property acquisitions, options and strategic transactions
- Urgent applications and interlocutory matters

- Commercial disputes involving significant property interests
- Legal research, drafting and advice across complex matters

You will progressively take on more responsibility as your skills develop.

- Attend court and observe and participate in hearings
- Speak directly with clients and assist with client strategy
- Correspond with solicitors on the other side
- Assist with briefs to counsel
- Draft pleadings, correspondence, submissions and other legal documents
- Undertake substantive legal research and analysis
- Assist with preparing for hearings, mediations and conferences
- Work through complex factual and legal issues
- Learn how matters are actually run from start to finish

There is a genuine opportunity to learn quickly, develop technically and grow within the firm.

About You

We are looking for someone early in their legal career who has already demonstrated that they can work hard, think independently and take responsibility.

You will ideally have

- 0–3 years PQE, or be a law graduate with relevant legal experience
- Prior paralegal or legal experience, preferably in litigation, property or commercial law
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- The ability to understand complex information quickly
- Good judgement and common sense
- A willingness to ask questions, learn and improve
- The ability to work independently while knowing when to seek guidance
- A genuine interest in litigation and property law
- A strong work ethic and willingness to take ownership of tasks

We are seeking a candidate who is smart, curious, commercially minded, willing to learn and capable of taking feedback and applying it.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have worked as a paralegal before becoming a lawyer, as this usually means you already understand the importance of deadlines, file management, accuracy, client service and getting things done.

Why Join Us

This is an opportunity to build your legal career in a firm where you will actually be involved in the work.

You will have

- Exposure to complex and high-value property litigation

- Early exposure to clients, counsel and court proceedings
- Responsibility that grows with your capability
- The opportunity to develop strong advocacy, drafting and strategic skills
