Firm background

Arnold Bloch Leibler is a premier Australian commercial law firm with offices in Melbourne and Sydney. We provide strategic legal and commercial advice to a diverse range of Australian and international corporations, high-net worth individuals and large family businesses.

Arnold Bloch Leibler has developed a reputation for its innovative, commercially focused advice and is regularly involved in some of the most important landmark transactions in the country, helping clients with their most important or difficult legal matters - when their reputation is at risk, in crisis situations or before embarking on key initiatives.

ABL’s approach to AI and innovation

Arnold Bloch Leibler is committed to being exceptionally well placed in the Australian market in its adoption and use of artificial intelligence. The firm invests in AI tools, including Harvey and ChatGPT, to enhance the quality, efficiency and value of the legal services we provide to our clients, and to support our people across both fee-earning practice groups and support services teams. The Legal AI Lead role has been created to lead the firm-wide embedding of these tools, partnering closely with partners, lawyers and support staff to identify opportunities, drive adoption, and develop tailored ways of working that reflect the realities of legal practice, law firm management and executive functions.

Our approach to artificial intelligence

Our approach is guided by a simple principle: technology should take on the routine and process-driven elements of legal work, so that our lawyers can devote themselves more fully to the complex,

strategic and high-stakes advisory work for which clients engage us. By using tools like Harvey and ChatGPT to streamline repeatable and research tasks, we free our lawyers to focus on the strategy, analysis, advice and advocacy that genuinely move a matter forward - adopted thoughtfully, with appropriate regard to confidentiality, professional responsibility and quality.
