iTANZ is looking for an experienced Local Government Regulatory Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support our product development, Business Analysis, and delivery teams working on our ICP Regulatory module.

This is not a technology role.

We’re looking for someone who understands how Western Australian local governments actually operate across regulatory functions — including the legislation, workflows, officer responsibilities, inspections, approvals, compliance processes, and customer journeys.

- Building Applications
- Planning Applications
- Environmental Health & Food Premises
- Public Health
- Septic Tanks & On-site Wastewater
- Health Inspections
- Animal Management
- Local Laws & Ranger Services

What we’re looking for

✅ 5+ years of experience working within or directly advising WA local government councils

✅ Strong practical knowledge of council regulatory workflows

✅ Experience across at least 3 regulatory domains





✅ Strong understanding of relevant WA legislation

✅ Ability to translate complex regulatory processes into clear, practical guidance for BAs and technology teams

✅ Strong documentation and communication skills

We are particularly interested in professionals with backgrounds such as Environmental Health Officers, Building Surveyors, Planning Officers, Regulatory Officers, Ranger Services Managers, and Local Government Consultants/Advisors.

Remote engagement is supported, with sessions conducted via video calls.
