A market-leader in community program support is seeking a resourceful Occupational Therapist to join their team on a casual, part-time or full-time basis. We are seeking an Occupational Therapist who would primarily support paediatric clients
Job Responsibilities:
- Assessing the home and work environments of clients and deciding what adjustments are needed.
- Skill Development in self-care, self-management, home management.
- Identifying high risk tasks in workplaces and suggesting safer alternatives.
- Coaching clients through tasks they find challenging (e.g. wheelchair, orthotic and prosthetic devices).
- Modification of environment (e.g. home, work, school etc.) and adaptation of processes.
- Advising on assistive technologies to help clients with daily activities.
- Developing physical rehabilitation programs to help clients gain skills for independence.
- Educating caregivers and family members of clients on patient care.
- Evaluating results and progress of occupational therapy on clients.
- Maintaining professional knowledge and technical progress to provide clients with the best treatment program available.
- Evaluating patient condition regarding physical and basic mental health and preparing reports.
Requirements
- A Bachelor or Masterâs degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Registration with AHPRA
- Compliant with state healthcare regulatory requirements.
- Possess up-to-date knowledge of treatment practices and therapy programs.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to take care of clients with varied personalities and disabilities.
- Computer proficiency with various tasks.
- Ability to assess patients condition and work with treatment plans.
