About This Role

Lead the tech backbone of a growing childcare organisation-secure, reliable and ready to scale. We're seeking an experienced IT Operations Manager to own multi‑site IT operations and lead a high‑performing team across service desk, field support and systems administration. You'll uplift ITIL‑aligned practices and provide hands‑on leadership across Microsoft 365/Entra ID/Azure, networking and endpoint management. Key priorities include maturing our Halo ticketing platform and completing the migration of remaining on‑premises systems to Microsoft 365, while partnering with our global parent company on shared platforms and standards that meet local regulatory and child‑safety requirements.

This permanent, full‑time role (based in St Leonards (hybrid)) will see you build and coach a team of five, strengthen SLAs/KPIs and incident response, and lift service workflows, knowledge practices and vendor performance-delivering secure, reliable services for a growing multi‑site environment.

What You'll Do

Own multi‑site IT operations - ensure availability, performance and reliability; run ITIL practices (incident/problem/change/asset/request); set and improve SLAs/KPIs and reporting; lead major incidents and post‑incident reviews. Provide hands‑on technical leadership across Microsoft 365, Entra ID/Azure, networking (WAN/LAN, Wi‑Fi, firewalls, site connectivity) and endpoint management (Windows/mobile), with security embedded across identity, endpoints and access. Lead and grow a team of five (service desk, field, systems admin); coach capability, lift service culture and establish clear coverage/on‑call models. Run service desk & field support - mature Halo ticketing and knowledge, standardise onboarding/offboarding,



and oversee on‑site work including new campus setups, relocations and hardware refreshes. Deliver operational projects - Halo expansion, cloud migrations, infrastructure upgrades and identity/network/security improvements; deliver to scope, schedule and budget with vendors and stakeholders. Manage vendors, procurement & governance - hold vendors to account, procure hardware/licences, partner with leaders and parent‑company IT on shared platforms, and uphold privacy, data protection, child‑safety and audit readiness (docs, runbooks, SOPs).

About You

Experience & leadership: 5+ years in IT operations/support and 3+ years leading small teams, with proven vendor management. Technical depth: Strong across the Microsoft stack (M365, AD, Azure), solid endpoint/Intune capability and medium networking knowledge (WAN/LAN, Wi‑Fi, firewalls). Service management: Practical ITIL operator-driving incident/problem/change, clear SLAs/KPIs and confident major‑incident leadership (certification a bonus). Communication & customer focus: Friendly, empathetic communicator who builds rapport and trust with stakeholders at all levels. Ways of working: Organised and methodical with a strategic, solutions mindset; hands‑on when needed and calm, clear and decisive under pressure. Compliance: Current (or eligible) Working With Children Check and a strong commitment to privacy and child‑safe practices. Nice to have: Familiarity with SOX controls and related governance.
