What you'll be doing

As an Operating Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting clinicians and ensuring patients receive safe, respectful and efficient care throughout their surgical journey.

· Assist with the safe transfer and positioning of patients across theatre, recovery and High Dependency Units

· Provide compassionate, person-centred support to patients who may be physically, mentally or emotionally distressed

· Clean, prepare and maintain operating rooms, surgical instrumentation and equipment





· Prepare and position equipment prior to procedures to ensure effective theatre turnaround

· Operate industrial equipment and cleaning chemicals in line with safe work practices

Selection Criteria:

- Ability to demonstrate experience in patient transportation and positioning within an Operating Suite and ability to adapt to the demands of a Perioperative environment.
- Sound knowledge of Operating Suite equipment and maintenance.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Work Health and Safety and Manual handling principles and requirements.
- Proven ability to communicate with a variety of patients, staff, and managers.
- Demonstrated experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment.
