Remuneration: $67,094.86 - $68,847.01 per annum

Hours Per Week: 38 (Job Share may be considered for part time hours)

What You'll Be Doing

As an Operating Assistant, you will play a critical support role within the Perioperative Department, assisting healthcare professionals to deliver safe, efficient and patient-centred care. Working under the direction of nursing and medical staff, you will help maintain a well-functioning operating suite while ensuring patients are supported with dignity, empathy and professionalism.

- Transfer, position and safely transport patients throughout the Operating Suite, Recovery and High Dependency Unit

- Support patients who may be experiencing physical,



emotional or mental distress by providing compassionate, person-centred care

- Clean, maintain and prepare operating rooms, equipment and surgical instrumentation

- Assist clinical teams by preparing positioning equipment and supporting procedural workflows

- Contribute to a safe and efficient environment by operating equipment and chemicals in line with workplace safety standards

Selection Criteria

- Ability to demonstrate experience in patient transportation and positioning within an Operating Suite and ability to adapt to the demands of a Perioperative setting.

- Sound knowledge of Operating Suite equipment and maintenance.

- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Work Health and Safety and Manual handling principles and requirements.

- Proven ability to communicate with a variety of patients, staff, and managers.

- Demonstrated experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment.
