Paediatric Occupational Therapist – Flexible, Community-Focused Role
Location: Caringbah, Sydney NSW
Full-Time or Part-Time | Competitive Salary + Work-Life Balance
This is a unique opportunity for an Occupational Therapist who is passionate about working with children and delivering therapy in creative, engaging, and community-based settings. This role offers the chance to work beyond the clinic—incorporating surf therapy, martial arts, animal-assisted therapy, and outdoor programs to help children develop independence, confidence, and essential life skills.
About the Role
As a Paediatric Occupational Therapist, you’ll provide therapy in clinic, home, school, and community settings, tailoring interventions to each child’s needs. The caseload is diverse, typically including children with ASD, ADHD, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, learning difficulties, and sensory processing disorders. The clinic also offers holiday intensives and structured programs to support ongoing development.
For therapists interested in surf therapy, full training is provided, and sessions run 1-2 afternoons per week alongside experienced surf instructors. This program is completely optional.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a varied caseload, tailoring therapy plans to individual goals.
- Conduct assessments and deliver evidence-based interventions.
- Collaborate with families and other professionals to support a child’s progress.
- Integrate play, sensory-based therapy, and outdoor activities where beneficial.
- Maintain clear documentation, progress reports, and NDIS reports.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and team-based case discussions.
Requirements
- Degree in Occupational Therapy and AHPRA registration.
- Understanding of child development and sensory integration principles.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage children and families.
- Effective time management and ability to balance clinic and community-based work.
- A love of creativity, play-based therapy, and innovative intervention approaches.
- A current driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
