The Payroll Manager will be responsible for:

- Leading end-to-end payroll processing for a national workforce

- Managing complex payroll transactions including terminations, redundancies, adjustments and manual calculations

- Overseeing payroll compliance across awards, legislation and employment conditions

- Managing monthly payroll activities, including payroll tax, superannuation, PAYG and reporting requirements

- Acting as the escalation point for complex payroll queries

- Coaching, mentoring and developing payroll team members

- Partnering with HR, Finance and operational leaders to deliver high-quality payroll outcomes

- Identifying opportunities for process improvement, automation and efficiency gains

- Supporting payroll system enhancements and broader business transformation initiatives

The successful Payroll Manager will have:

- Demonstrated experience in a Payroll Manager, Senior Payroll or Team Lead capacity

- Proven end-to-end payroll experience within a large and complex workforce environment

- Strong understanding of payroll legislation, awards, NES and compliance requirements

- Experience managing payroll for multi-site operations

- Payroll systems expertise

- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills

- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills




- A proactive mindset and commitment to continuous improvement

- Experience within construction, infrastructure, trade services or similar industries will be highly regarded
