The role

We are looking for a contract Principal Investigator to support a decentralised (remote) headache study in Australia. The study is running fully decentralised across Australia. Participants are recruited, consented, treated, and followed up remotely. There is no physical site attendance required of you or of participants.

You will be supported in this project by our Head of Science and wider research team.

We expect about 2-5 hours per week over an 8-12-week study window.

$14,000 AUD fixed fee | ~8–12 week active engagement | 100% remote | Medical oversight only.

What the role covers





- Serve as named PI on the project and relevant regulatory/ethics submissions
- Provide clinical and scientific input into the protocol, eligibility criteria, endpoints and safety plan
- Take overall responsibility for the medical conduct of the trial and the safety and wellbeing of participants, per ICH GCP
- Confirm eligibility and provide medical oversight of remote screening, randomisation and dosing decisions
- Review, assess and sign off on adverse events, SAEs and causality assessments
- Review and sign the final study report and applicable regulatory documents

What the role does not cover

- Medical writing (protocol authoring, CSR, manuscripts), handled separately by our team
- Day-to-day study management, monitoring, or data management, handled by our team
- Statistical analysis

Requirements

- Medical practitioner with current, unrestricted AHPRA general or specialist registration (Fellowship or equivalent). Neurology, headache medicine, pain medicine or general practice.
- Current ICH GCP certification (within 2 years)
- Working knowledge of the Australian regulatory workplace: HREC submission, TGA CTN scheme, NHMRC National Statement, ANZCTR registration
- Australia-based, able to attend meetings in USA business hours and provide timely safety review
- Comfortable working entirely remotely

Highly regarded

- Experience as PI or Sub-I on at least 1 interventional trial
- Prior PI experience on a decentralised or hybrid trial
- Experience with ePRO/eDiary headache endpoints
- Publication record in headache or neurology
