About the role:

The Procurement Commercial Lead is responsible for providing commercial oversight, governance, perks tracking and analytical insights across a procurement expenditure portfolio of approximately $6 billion. Reporting to the Director Strategy and Enablement, this role will work closely with procurement teams, Finance, executives and key stakeholders to ensure procurement outcomes are commercially robust, financially validated and aligned with organisational objectives.

You will play a critical role in strengthening commercial governance and ensuring procurement delivers sustainable value, efficiency and performance outcomes across the organisation.

Key Accountabilities Include, but not limited to:

- Review, challenge and validate commercial aspects of procurement recommendations, tender evaluations and contract award submissions.




- Provide independent commercial assurance on procurement outcomes prior to approval and contract execution.
- Assess financial assumptions, pricing methodologies, business cases and value-for-money outcomes.
- Establish and manage benefits reporting and tracking frameworks, including validating procurement savings and benefits.
- Lead enterprise-wide spend analysis and identify strategic sourcing, supplier consolidation, demand management and category management opportunities.
- Translate complex expenditure data into actionable commercial insights and recommendations.
- Develop dashboards and reporting tools to support data-driven procurement decision-making.
- Monitor expenditure trends, compliance, supplier concentration and market developments.
- Build strong relationships with procurement, Finance, operational leaders and executive stakeholders.
- Present commercial findings and recommendations to senior leadership and act as a trusted advisor on procurement performance, benefits measurement and commercial governance.

About you

Procurement experience is mandatory for this role. We are seeking an experienced commercial and procurement professional with:

- A tertiary qualification in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Procurement or a related discipline (mandatory).




- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in commercial, procurement, business performance or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience managing large-scale procurement spend, commercial performance initiatives or benefits realisation programs.
- Strong understanding of the procurement lifecycle, procurement governance and value-for-money principles.
- Demonstrated experience in business case development and evaluation, cost modelling, pricing analysis and validating procurement outcomes.
- Experience in contract review and ensuring commercial terms support desired procurement outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience establishing, implementing and managing benefits realisation and tracking frameworks.
- Highly developed stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills.
- Experience working within complex governance frameworks and identifying and mitigating commercial risks.
- Strong leadership, collaboration, problem-solving and strategic thinking capabilities.
