We have an opportunity for an experienced cement plant Production Manager to join the leadership team in Gladstone at Australia’s largest cement plant.

As the Production Manager, you will provide strong safety, people and process leadership to a team of engineers, operators and support staff. You will provide strategic and operational oversight, working on and in the business with your team and other functional areas to meet quality, volume and production targets. Your commercial and risk-based approach to decision making, combined with your technical cement knowledge will bring value to the Gladstone operations.

Your Opportunity

Reporting to the Operations Manager (Plant Manager) and on the senior leadership team for the Gladstone region, as the Production Manager you will::

- Lead, recruit and develop the people resources of the Production team.
- Provide visible safety and environmental leadership.
- Understand commercial drivers and mentoring your team to achieve commercial success.
- Deliver the Alternative Fuels and Renewables program in liaison with Geocycle and provide leadership in exploring recent opportunities and markets.
- Actively participate in the development of strategic plans for the Gladstone site.
- Lead or actively contribute to the implementation/ commissioning of Capex projects.
- Lead a culture of continuous improvement by challenging the status quo and generating ideas to improve plant, process and people performance.
- Be accountable for the development and delivery of production operational budget/forecasting including operational energy programs.
- Manage production planning function ensuring volumes are delivered to plan, scheduled despatching and accurate stock reconciliation.

What You’ll Bring

- Previous experience as a Production Manager or similar role in a cement plant,



including 5 years’ experience in a people leadership role
- Detailed knowledge of cement kiln process technology
- Demonstrated knowledge of the operations of a cement plant
- Degree qualified in Chemical Engineering or Metallurgy, or equivalent experience gained in a Process/Production role in a cement plant
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with proven experience engaging and influencing key stakeholders
- High safety awareness and leadership skills
- Well-developed forward planning, analytical and strategic thinking skills complimented by business acumen
- A passion and talent for coaching, mentoring and developing a high performing team
