Project Finance Associate | Renewable Energy | Australia A leading renewable energy developer is looking for a Project Finance Associate to join their in-house finance team in Australia. Reporting to the CFO APAC, you will own the financial modelling and financing workstreams across a growing portfolio of solar, wind, and battery storage assets — and support M&A; and capital recycling activity as the platform scales.

This is a principal-side role with real transaction exposure from day one. You will be across the models, the lender relationships, and the commercial decisions that determine how projects get financed and built.

What You Will Be Doing

- Build and maintain robust project finance models across the Australian development and operating portfolio, from early-stage feasibility through to financial close
- Manage the financing process end to end — lender engagement, model audit support, advisor coordination, data room management, and documentation through to close
- Provide modelling outputs and scenario analysis to support PPA negotiations, LTESA tender processes, RFP responses, and EPC procurement decisions
- Support post-close compliance, including bank reporting, covenant monitoring, and technical waivers during construction and operations
- Contribute to M&A; and capital recycling workstreams, including acquisition modelling, divestiture processes, and investment committee materials
- Liaise across development, construction, and commercial teams to keep models current and outputs decision-ready for senior leadership

What You Will Bring

- 3 to 6 years of experience in project finance,

investment banking, infrastructure advisory, or corporate finance at a bank, Big 4 advisory firm, or energy developer
- Strong project finance modelling capability — you build models from scratch, structure debt waterfalls, run sensitivities, and produce lender-ready outputs
- Familiarity with Australian energy market frameworks is an advantage — LTESAs, PPAs, CIS, AEMO — though strong candidates from adjacent sectors will be considered
- Degree in Applied Finance, Economics, Commerce, Engineering, or a related discipline
- High attention to detail with the ability to work accurately under transaction timelines
- Explicit communicator, comfortable presenting complex analysis to senior stakeholders and external counterparties
- Ownership mentality — someone who drives workstreams rather than waiting to be directed

Why This Role

Australia's energy transition is entering its most capital-intensive phase, and this business is deploying capital at the centre of it. Backed by one of the world's largest infrastructure asset managers, the platform is targeting 10 GW in Australia by 2030 with approximately AUD 10 billion of planned forward investment — which means a continuous pipeline of project financings, asset divestments, and acquisition opportunities.

You will work directly alongside senior leadership on live transactions, with genuine scope to grow as the platform and the deal flow expand. If you want a role where your modelling is used to make real capital decisions — not to produce a report that sits on a shelf — this is it.
