PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Redion is a multinational travel insurance leader, and we seek a Project Manager to lead IT and business projects, ensuring timely delivery, governance, and stakeholder alignment. This role will manage projects from initiation to completion, optimise resource allocation, track risks, and ensure compliance with PMO best practices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Project Planning & Execution
- Lead the collaboration with product development teams to create creative and competitive travel insurance products catering to the needs of Australian travellers.
- Provide senior-level actuarial support during the development of products specifically designed for the Australian market.
- Analyse and propose strategic adjustments to existing products based on performance and market conditions in Australia.
· Stakeholder Management & Communication
- Serve as the primary point of contact between IT, business stakeholders, and external partners.
- Facilitate regular project meetings and communicate clearly on project status, risks, and dependencies.
- Ensure stakeholder expectations are managed effectively throughout the project lifecycle.
· Risk & Issue Management
- Identify potential project risks and issues, developing mitigation strategies.
- Track and escalate critical risks to leadership with actionable recommendations.
- Maintain a risk and issue log, ensuring proactive resolution.
· Project Governance & Reporting
- Ensure projects adhere to PMO governance standards (methodologies, templates, documentation).
- Provide weekly and monthly progress reports to leadership and stakeholders.
- Conduct post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and process improvements.
· Agile & Waterfall Delivery Management
- Apply Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid methodologies based on project needs.
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) for Agile projects.
- Ensure project teams follow structured delivery processes for smooth execution.
· Budget & Resource Management
- Track project costs, budget variance, and financial forecasting to ensure cost control.
- Work with IT and business teams to optimize resource allocation for project efficiency.
- Ensure projects stay within defined budget constraints without compromising quality.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Technical & Business Skills (Must-Have)
· Project Management & Methodologies
- Proficiency in Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid methodologies
- Experience with project management tools (Jira, Confluence, MS Project, Smartsheet)
- Strong knowledge of PMO governance & reporting standards
· Stakeholder & Communication Skills
- Ability to manage cross-functional teams and engage with IT/business stakeholders
- Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills
- Experience working with third-party vendors and external partners
· Risk & Financial Management
- Understanding of risk management frameworks (RAID logs, escalation processes)
- Experience with project budgeting & financial tracking
· IT & Business Knowledge
- Familiarity with IT systems & software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Understanding of business transformation & change management principles
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in business, IT, or related field
- Project Management Certification (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile Certified Practitioner)
- Scrum Master Certification (CSM, PSM)
