About the Company

Our client is a well-established Australian manufacturing business operating within a large-scale, multi-shift production workplace. The organisation has a strong focus on safety, quality, operational performance, and continuous improvement.

An opportunity has become available for an experienced Quality Manager to take ownership of the site's quality function and play a key role in strengthening quality capability across the broader operation.

About the Role The Quality Manager will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the site's Quality Management System, ensuring products consistently meet customer, regulatory, and internal requirements.

This is a hands-on leadership role focused on embedding quality into day-to-day operations rather than simply managing compliance. You will partner closely with production, maintenance, supply chain, and operational leaders to build capability, improve process discipline, and strengthen ownership of quality across the site.

Key responsibilities include

- Developing and implementing the site's quality strategy

- Leading and continuously improving the Quality Management System

- Ensuring compliance with HACCP, GMP, customer, and regulatory requirements

- Managing site food safety and quality programs, including HACCP plans and CCP verification.

- Leading customer, certification, and regulatory audits

- Managing customer complaints, quality incidents, and product non-conformances

- Leading root cause analysis and corrective and preventative actions

- Driving continuous improvement initiatives to reduce variation and improve process capability

- Managing laboratory operations, testing requirements, and equipment calibration

- Maintaining document control, SOPs, specifications, and quality standards

- Developing quality capability through coaching, training, and mentoring

- Supporting risk assessments, recall preparedness, and traceability exercises

- Reviewing quality performance data and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce cost

This role will suit a quality leader who is comfortable being visible on the floor, challenging existing processes, developing people, and driving accountability for quality across a complex manufacturing environment.

Skills & Experience To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Minimum 5 years' experience in a quality leadership role within manufacturing

- Strong experience leading audits and managing regulatory and customer compliance

- Proven experience implementing continuous improvement initiatives

- Strong root cause analysis and investigation experience

- Sound knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and Quality Management Systems

- Experience leading and developing quality teams

- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

- Commercial mindset with the ability to balance quality, cost, and operational outcomes

- Comfortable operating within a multi-shift manufacturing environment
