The Opportunity
We are expanding into Queensland and we are looking for an experienced recruitment professional to become our first Brisbane-based hire and help build our presence across one of Australia's most important energy, resources and infrastructure markets.
Based in the Brisbane CBD, you will work exclusively for us while being located alongside our investment partners, 4impact, giving you the opportunity to establish our local presence with the backing of an established national business, experienced leadership team and growing technology platform.
This is not simply a Principal Consultant role. We are looking for someone who wants to build a market.
Reporting directly to our COO, you will take responsibility for developing our client base across Queensland, building relationships with new and existing customers and delivering recruitment and talent solutions across the energy, resources and infrastructure sectors.
Importantly, you won't be selling recruitment alone.
We are evolving the traditional recruitment model by bringing together specialist recruitment capability, workforce intelligence, AI-powered technology and talent market insights. Everyone joining our business will play a role in taking this broader proposition to market and helping customers solve workforce challenges in a different way.
For the right person, this is an opportunity to establish our presence in Queensland, build a significant client portfolio and play an important role in the next stage of our national growth.
About Us
We are building a current kind of workforce business for the energy, resources and infrastructure sectors.
Our foundations are in specialist recruitment, where we have built deep industry relationships and networks over many years. Our strategy now extends beyond traditional recruitment by combining our people, proprietary workforce data, AI technology and industry expertise to help customers better understand their workforce markets and identify, assess and secure critical talent.
Following recent investment from a global investment group, we are entering an exciting new phase of growth.
Our expansion into Brisbane represents an important part of that strategy, extending our footprint beyond Perth and creating greater connectivity between two of Australia's largest resources, energy and infrastructure markets.
About the Role
As our first Brisbane-based Principal Consultant, you will have considerable autonomy to shape how we develop in Queensland.
You will initially combine hands-on recruitment and business development with a broader market development role, working closely with our COO and national leadership team to identify where we can create the greatest value for customers.
You will:
- Develop and grow our client base across Queensland
- Build senior relationships across energy, resources, infrastructure and associated technical markets
- Identify opportunities across our broader workforce intelligence, recruitment and technology offering
- Own and grow a high-performing recruitment desk across permanent, contract and senior appointments
- Leverage existing relationships and networks to create crossover opportunities between Western Australia and Queensland
- Develop new customer relationships through strategic and consultative business development
- Work with existing customers to identify broader workforce challenges and opportunities
- Champion our evolving Workforce Intelligence proposition in the Queensland market
- Deliver specialist, senior and executive search assignments
- Build deep talent networks across Queensland, Australia and international markets
- Work closely with our technology and recruitment teams to bring AI-enabled sourcing, talent intelligence and workforce insights into customer conversations
- Represent us in the Brisbane market and help establish our local brand, network and reputation
- Over time, contribute to building the Queensland team and capability as the market develops
About You We are looking for an established recruitment professional who has the credibility and commercial capability to represent us in a new market.
You are likely to have a strong track record in recruitment within energy, resources, infrastructure, engineering or another relevant technical market, combined with established client relationships and a genuine understanding of how these sectors operate.
You will be comfortable developing business, but your approach will be consultative rather than transactional. You enjoy understanding what customers are trying to achieve and finding the right solution rather than simply selling a recruitment service.
You will ideally bring:
- A strong track record in 360 recruitment and business development
- Established experience within energy, resources, infrastructure, engineering or technical markets
- Strong relationships and networks within the Queensland market
- The commercial confidence to engage with senior customer stakeholders
- Experience building and developing client accounts and recruitment markets
- An entrepreneurial mindset and desire to create something rather than inherit a tightly defined role
- The ability to operate independently while remaining connected to a broader national team
- An interest in technology, AI and how the recruitment industry is evolving
- The ability to think beyond individual recruitment assignments and identify broader customer opportunities
- A collaborative approach and willingness to share relationships, opportunities and knowledge across the business
- The ambition to play a meaningful role in building our Queensland presence
Why Join Us? This is an opportunity to join at an important point in our evolution.
You will be our first person on the ground in Brisbane, but you won't be starting from scratch.
You will have an established brand and customer relationships behind you, direct access to an experienced leadership team, the support of our Perth recruitment business and technology team, and the opportunity to leverage relationships across our investor network.
You will also have something genuinely different to take to customers.
Rather than competing solely as another recruitment agency, we are building a broader Workforce Intelligence proposition that combines specialist people, industry expertise, workforce data and AI-powered technology.
For someone who has built a successful career in recruitment but wants their next move to be about more than running another desk, this is an opportunity to help build a market, develop a business and champion a different approach to solving workforce challenges.
The opportunity starts in Brisbane. The potential is considerably bigger.
