The Women and Newborn Unit provides comprehensive, woman and family-centred care across maternity, gynaecology, midwifery and newborn services. Supporting women across Gladstone and surrounding communities, the service is committed to safe, sustainable and evidence-based care that respects each woman's individual needs, culture and circumstances. With care delivered by skilled and qualified health professionals across a range of settings, the focus is on making quality maternity care accessible and close to home for local families.
About the role
- Deliver woman-centred, evidence-based midwifery care throughout pregnancy, labour, birth and the postnatal period, including care of newborns and infants.
- Take professional responsibility for caseloads and births while working closely with medical, allied health and midwifery teams to ensure safe, high-quality and culturally responsive care.
- Apply evidence-based practice, clinical governance, risk management and quality improvement principles to deliver safe, reliable and effective care.
- Use excellent communication, interpersonal and consultation skills to work in partnership with women, families, colleagues and other stakeholders.
- Demonstrate growing clinical autonomy and judgement while actively participating in professional development, self-appraisal, teamwork and service improvement.
About you
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Midwife and annual practising certificate, with the knowledge and skills to practise safely and professionally.
- Understand and apply quality, safety, risk management and clinical governance principles in everyday practice.
- Provide comprehensive midwifery care in partnership with women, families and multidisciplinary teams,
with a commitment to evidence-based practice and positive health outcomes.
- Build respectful, professional relationships and confidently provide health education and support that is sensitive to individual needs, culture and health literacy.
What we offer Total remuneration value of up to $171,401 p.a. (Includes 35% caseload allowance) is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $59.77 - $76.67 p.h. (includes 35% caseload allowance)
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
