Safety Officer

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm or 8:00am–4:00pm

Rate: $40–$50 per hour, pending experience

About the Role We are seeking an experienced Safety Officer to support workplace health and safety across multiple sites. This role will focus on maintaining compliance with WHS legislation, company policies and industry standards while promoting a robust and proactive safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct workplace inspections, safety audits and risk assessments.
- Identify hazards and implement appropriate control measures.
- Assist with incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Coordinate WHS meetings and maintain relevant records.
- Deliver toolbox talks, safety training and inductions.
- Monitor and report on safety performance, incidents and trends.
- Assist with contractor safety and compliance.
- Develop and review risk assessments and Safe Work Procedures.
- Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, regulations and company requirements.
- Promote positive safety behaviours through coaching and engagement.
- Support the ongoing improvement of the WHS Management System.
- Assist with internal and external compliance audits.
- Ensure hazards and corrective actions are followed up and closed.
- Provide practical WHS support to operational teams.




- Complete other safety-related duties as required.

Skills & Experience
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety is highly desirable.
- Previous experience in a Safety Officer, WHS Coordinator or similar role.
- Sound knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and Codes of Practice.
- Strong experience in workplace inspections, investigations, auditing and risk assessments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office and safety reporting systems.
- Ability to work independently and across multiple sites.
- Manufacturing or operational experience is advantageous.
