Senior Data Modeler – Snowflake, DBT & Power BI

LTM Australia is seeking an experienced Senior Data Modeler to join a major data transformation program with a leading Australian enterprise within our data practice across the region.

This is a highly client-facing role focused on the data consumption layer, requiring someone who can take ownership of data modelling, semantic models and analytics requirements while providing technical leadership and guidance to the client.

The Role

You will work closely with the client, Data Engineers, Architects and BI teams to design and deliver a modern consumption layer using Snowflake, dbt and Power BI.

The successful candidate will be comfortable leading client discussions, challenging requirements and translating business needs into scalable, governed and high-performing data models.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the design and development of conceptual, logical and physical data models.
- Own the data consumption layer, ensuring data is structured effectively for analytics, reporting and business users.
- Develop and maintain dbt models and transformations within Snowflake.
- Design semantic models and business-ready data structures for Power BI.
- Work with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into effective data solutions.
- Lead workshops and technical discussions with client stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers,



Architects and BI Developers to ensure consistency across the data platform.
- Provide guidance on data modelling standards, dimensional modelling, performance and data governance.
- Identify opportunities to improve and simplify existing data models and reporting structures.
- Support emerging Snowflake Cortex and AI use cases where appropriate.

What We're Looking For

- Strong experience as a Senior Data Modeller, Analytics Data Modeller or similar.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Snowflake.
- Strong experience with dbt, including data transformation and modelling.
- Strong Power BI experience, including semantic models, datasets and data modelling.
- Excellent SQL skills.
- Strong understanding of dimensional modelling, facts, dimensions and star schemas.
- Experience designing and optimising the consumption / presentation layer.
- Understanding of modern data architecture and analytics environments.
- Experience with Snowflake Cortex / AI is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

The Person

This role is suited to a senior data professional who can lead the client, not simply take requirements and build to specification.

You will be confident running workshops, making recommendations, challenging existing approaches and explaining complex data concepts to both technical and business stakeholders.
