The Role Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a pivotal position within the finance function, responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, leading the month-end close process, and maintaining a robust control environment. The role will partner closely with key stakeholders across the business, providing technical accounting expertise while supporting strategic decision-making in a complex, multi-entity workplace.

Responsibilities

- Own and manage the end-to-end month-end and year-end close processes

- Prepare monthly management reports and statutory financial statements

- Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting to senior leadership

- Manage balance sheet reconciliations and maintain strong financial controls

- Oversee fixed asset accounting, depreciation schedules, and capital expenditure reporting

- Coordinate external audits and act as the primary liaison for auditors

- Manage compliance obligations including BAS, GST, FBT, and income tax requirements





- Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and regulatory obligations

- Drive process improvement initiatives across finance systems and reporting processes

- Support budgeting, forecasting, and business performance analysis through the provision of accurate financial information

- Provide technical accounting guidance and mentorship within the finance team

The Candidate

- CA or CPA qualification

- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline

- Minimum 4 to 6 years' accounting experience, including experience in a senior accounting capacity

- Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and statutory reporting requirements

- Proven experience managing month-end close processes and financial reporting

- Experience working within large, complex, multi-entity organisations

- Advanced Excel and ERP system experience

- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with excellent attention to detail

- Experience from a Big 4 accounting firm and/or exposure to agribusiness, food production, manufacturing, or similarly complex industries will be highly regarded
