I am partnering exclusively with a leading Australian real estate investment organisation to recruit an Accountant on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Backed by one of Australia's largest institutional investors, the business manages a growing portfolio of high-quality commercial real estate investments across office, retail and logistics.

The Opportunity

Working closely with the Financial Controller and broader Finance team, you will play an integral role in delivering accurate and timely accounting and reporting across a portfolio of established commercial real estate investments.

This is a genuinely hands-on position where strong execution of BAU accounting is essential. You will take ownership across month-end, reconciliations, reporting and year-end activities while ensuring the underlying financial information is accurate and reliable.

Importantly, the role goes beyond producing the numbers. You will work closely with stakeholders across the business to provide insight into financial and portfolio performance, while partnering with external property managers, auditors and tax advisers.

Key Responsibilities

- Take ownership of BAU accounting and financial reporting across a portfolio of commercial real estate investments
- Manage key month-end activities, including journals, reconciliations and reporting
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial and management reporting
- Provide meaningful analysis and insights into financial and portfolio performance
- Support accounting and reporting across investment and fund structures
- Partner with stakeholders across Finance, Investment and Asset Management
- Work closely with external property managers and service providers,



including JLL and CBRE
- Support year-end financial reporting and the external audit process
- Liaise with external auditors and tax advisers and respond to queries
- Ensure financial information is accurately maintained across corporate and fund accounting systems
- Support broader financial planning and analysis activities where required
- Review existing Finance processes and identify opportunities to improve controls, reporting and efficiency
- Contribute to Finance initiatives as the investment platform continues to grow and scale

About You

We're looking for a hands-on, commercially minded Accountant who combines solid technical accounting foundations with the confidence to engage with stakeholders and provide insight beyond the numbers.

You will be comfortable working within a lean Finance team where everyone contributes and will have the ability to quickly take ownership of your responsibilities and deliver within established reporting deadlines.

You will bring

- A degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
- Completed CA or CPA qualification
- Strong hands-on financial accounting experience
- Demonstrated experience across month-end, reconciliations and financial reporting
- Strong understanding of core accounting principles and financial controls




- Experience supporting year-end reporting and external audit processes
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial information and provide meaningful insights
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- A proactive, collaborative and hands-on approach
- The ability to operate effectively within a small, high-performing Finance team
- Experience within asset management, investment management, funds management or property/real estate would be highly regarded
- Fund accounting experience would be advantageous but is not essential
- Exposure to property investment structures would be advantageous
- Audit and/or tax experience would also be beneficial
