Scaling Industry leader in AI powered sensing systems for autonomous platforms working at the intersection of optics, autonomy, robotics and real time within the defence industry is looking for a Mechatronics Leader.

Responsibilities

- Lead the development of technologies that redefine what is possible in autonomous sensing and optical radar systems

- Own critical decisions spanning architecture, design, integration and validation of advanced prototype systems

- Working closely with the CTO and Product Owner you will transform ambitious concepts into reality

- Mentor exceptional engineers

- Partner with the executive leadership team to understand product and prototype objectives

- Lead the design of products and prototypes from concept through to validated build

- Select materials, components and suppliers to meet product requirements

- Assemble, integrate and test component parts

- Design and Lead field environment and testing of products and prototypes





- Transform prototypes into high quality production ready products

- Support the manufacturing and testing of products and prototypes

Your experience and skills

- Engineering degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, Robotics or related discipline

- 7 years experience in mechatronics / electro mechanical product development

- Previous experience with gimbals and dynamic platforms

- Robust embedded software, C/C++, STM32

- Previous experience in innovation / disruption / early protype stage through to production

Nice to haves

- Exposure to control problems and precision positioning

- FPGA and Force Calculations

- Previous experience in the defence (maritime, navy or army)
