Senior Payroll Officer | Subiaco | Corporate

- Key responsibilities include end-to-end payroll management, expatriate and international payroll, and payroll compliance and governance.
The Role The Senior Payroll Officer is responsible for the accurate, timely and compliant administration of corporate and expatriate payroll and to support project development and site operations teams’ payroll processes, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, employment obligations, and company policies.
This is a hands-on position that requires strong attention to detail, sound problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex payroll matters, including expatriate payrolls. The Senior Payroll Officer will also contribute to payroll reporting, reconciliations, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives, helping to drive payroll accuracy, efficiency, and best practice across the Group.
About You To succeed in this role, you are a meticulous payroll professional with a strong commitment to accuracy and compliance, the confidence to manage complex payroll matters, and the ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders across all levels of the business.
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in a similar payroll position.
- Sound understanding of payroll and basic accounting principles.
- Demonstrated experience in end-to-end payroll processing, including calculating, recording, and reconciling payroll transactions preferably in the mining sector.
- Demonstrated ability to accurately maintain employee and payroll records and perform high-volume data entry.
- Experience with expatriate payroll and/or complex payroll arrangements would be advantageous.
- Proven ability to identify and resolve payroll issues and discrepancies.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to plan workloads to ensure deadlines are met.
- High level of written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient level of competency in Microsoft Office and payroll/accounting systems. Experience using ADP would be an advantage.
- High degree of accuracy, diligence, and organisation skills.
- High standard of personal integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
It would be beneficial if you have:
- A Tertiary qualification in Accounting / Commerce / Human Resources or other related discipline
- Experience working in the mining, resources, exploration, or related industries.
- Exposure to multinational or international payroll environments.
Where you’ll be working
This position is based in Perseus’ Subiaco office. You’ll join a small corporate team, allowing for close interactions across all departments and levels of the business.
