About the Role:

Tecside is looking for an experienced Senior Recruitment Specialist to join our Technical Trades & Projects team in Perth.

You will recruit skilled technical trades across some of WA’s major construction, resources, maintenance and industrial projects, with roles including:

- Mechanical Fitters
- Pipe Fitters
- Electricians
- Boilermakers
- Welders
- Fabricators
- Riggers
- Painter Blasters
- Other specialist SMP, E&I; and project trades

You could be recruiting Mechanical Fitters for a major construction project, Electricians for an E&I; contractor, Boilermakers and Welders for fabrication requirements, or specialist trades for FIFO projects across the Pilbara or major workshops locally.

The expectation is straightforward: understand the requirement, know the market and present candidates who can actually do the job reliably.

You will manage recruitment from initial workforce requirement through to placement, while working closely with our mobilisation team to ensure candidates successfully make it from offer to site.

Responsibilities:

- Work directly with clients to understand current and upcoming workforce requirements
- Translate technical job scopes into clear candidate profiles and effective sourcing strategies
- Proactively develop talent pools for recurring and forecast project requirements
- Source candidates through LinkedIn, SEEK, JobAdder, referrals, existing networks and direct market engagement
- Screen, interview and technically qualify skilled trades candidates




- Assess candidates against project scope, relevant industry experience and client-specific requirements
- Identify gaps or risks before presenting candidates to the client
- Prepare and present high-quality candidate shortlists
- Manage candidate communication, offers, availability and counter-offer risk
- Work closely with mobilisation and operations to move candidates efficiently from acceptance through to mobilisation
- Maintain relationships with placed workers throughout their assignment
- Build long-term relationships with hiring managers and key client stakeholders
- Identify opportunities to grow existing accounts and expand Tecside’s technical trades capability
- Maintain accurate candidate, vacancy and placement information within JobAdder
- Ensure your candidates are cared for and work with payroll to ensure Timesheets are processed efficiently and effectively each week.

Qualifications & Experience:

We are looking for someone with a genuine background in technical trades recruitment. You will ideally bring 3–5 years of internal, agency or labour hire recruitment experience, with a significant portion of that time spent actively recruiting skilled blue-collar trades.

Experience should ideally include recruitment across several of the following environments:

- Mining and resources
- Oil & Gas / LNG
- Heavy industrial construction
- SMP construction
- Electrical & Instrumentation
- Fabrication and workshops
- Maintenance and shutdowns
- Engineering and project services
- FIFO projects

Experience recruiting Mechanical and/or Electrical trades is particularly important, although broader exposure to Boilermakers, Welders, Riggers, Painter Blasters, Fabricators and other industrial trades will be highly regarded.

We are looking for someone who already understands this market rather than someone learning technical recruitment from scratch.

- Rosters, rates and availability
- Mobilisation requirements
- High Risk Work Licences and site tickets
- Client-specific screening requirements
- Market conditions and candidate availability

More importantly, you will know how to qualify beyond the CV.

You should be able to explain why a candidate is suitable, identify where they fall short and have the confidence to push back when someone is not right for the requirement.
