Senior Storage Engineer

Location: Melbourne, Australia

Experience: 12+ Years

Must-Have Skills:

- Prior experience working in the Australian public sector and enterprise/government environments.
- 12+ years of experience in enterprise storage and backup administration.
- Strong expertise in Dell EMC PowerMax/VMAX, Data Domain, SRDF and SnapVX.
- Hands-on experience with SAN, Cisco switches, zoning, LUN provisioning and masking.
- Solid experience in storage transformation, data centre migrations, upgrades and DR implementations.
- Proven experience as a Storage SME/Lead, including storage architecture and solution delivery.
- Experience with backup, restore, disaster recovery, performance tuning and capacity planning.
- Knowledge of Unisphere, REST APIs and storage automation/orchestration.
- Experience with ITIL, storage security, access controls, encryption and compliance.

Relevant/Nice-to-Have Skills:

- Dell PPDM and IBM Power10/AIX environments.




- Hybrid storage and GCP/cloud integration.
- Data lifecycle management, retention policies and storage cost optimisation.
- Vendor management with Dell EMC and Cisco.
- Strong customer-facing, communication and documentation skills.
- Relevant Storage/SAN/Backup/ITIL certifications.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead enterprise storage, backup, SAN and DR operations.
- Design and implement scalable, secure and high-performance storage solutions.
- Manage PowerMax, Data Domain, SRDF, SnapVX and SAN infrastructure.
- Drive migrations, upgrades, firmware/patching and performance optimisation.
- Ensure compliance, availability, data integrity and defined RTO/RPO objectives.

Education: Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science, IT or related field.
