The Lodge Wadjemup is seeking a reliable and practical Full Time Assistant Operations Manager to join our team for an immediate start. This is a live-on-island role, offering the rare opportunity to work and live in a truly unique destination.

Rottnest Island (Wadjemup) is a stunning A-Class Reserve, located just 30 minutes by ferry from Fremantle, Western Australia, and is renowned for its natural beauty, rich cultural history, and relaxed island lifestyle.

About The Lodge Wadjemup

The Lodge Wadjemup is a 109-room resort and the newest addition to island tourism. Blending contemporary design with the natural landscape of Wadjemup, the resort delivers a high-quality guest experience while respecting the island’s unique environment and cultural significance.

About the Role

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day upkeep of the resort, ensuring facilities are safe, functional, and presented to a high standard for guests and staff. This role suits a hands-on individual who enjoys variety and takes pride in maintaining quality environments.

Experience Best Suited to This Role

This position is ideal for a practical and adaptable with experience in general maintenance, particularly within hospitality, accommodation, or facilities environments.

You will bring experience in:





- General property and building maintenance

- Basic carpentry, patching, painting, and finishing works

- Minor plumbing repairs and fixture maintenance

- Preventative and reactive maintenance tasks

- Safe use of hand and power tools

- Manual handling and physically active work

Highly regarded experience includes:

- Previous work in hotels, resorts, or accommodation settings

- Working in remote, island, or live-in roles

- Supporting trades and external contractors

- Strong understanding of WHS and safe work practices

- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities

Personal Attributes

- Reliable, flexible, and solution-focused

- Strong attention to detail and pride in presentation

- Comfortable working in a fast-paced hospitality environment

- Adaptable to island life and working as part of a close-knit team

Preferred Qualifications

- Forklift License

- Working at Heights Certification
