We're seeking a Software Engineer – Data Solutions to join the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER).
This is an exciting opportunity to work with modern data platforms, business intelligence solutions and cloud technologies, helping to deliver innovative data services that support education and research initiatives across Australia and internationally.
What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain data solutions, software applications and reporting tools
- Design and enhance Power BI dashboards, data models and business intelligence solutions
- Support cloud-based data platforms and automation workflows using Azure and M365 technologies
- Contribute to data integration, ETL and data management activities
- Assist with deployment processes, testing and quality assurance
- Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver practical solutions
- Produce technical and operational documentation
- Support continuous improvement and innovation across the Data Services team
What You'll Bring
- Qualifications in Computer Science, Data Science or a related discipline
- Experience developing solutions using Microsoft 365 and Azure technologies
- Strong Power BI skills, including data modelling,
DAX and visualisations
- Proficiency in Python, SQL and/or R
- Experience with data integration, ETL processes and data systems development
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
- A commitment to quality, customer service and continuous learning
