Help shape the future of insurance technology at Ebix Australia

Ebix Australia is seeking an experienced Solutions Architect to help shape the architecture and future direction of our broker technology platforms and integration ecosystem.

This is a senior, influential role for an architect who enjoys working at the intersection of technology strategy, solution design and delivery. You will lead solution and integration architecture across our WinBEAT platforms while helping establish scalable, reusable approaches to connecting brokers with insurers, premium funders, payment providers, document management systems, accounting platforms and other technology partners.

You’ll work closely with our Strategy & Architecture leadership, product and delivery teams, developers, customers and technology partners to turn business requirements into practical, secure and scalable technology solutions.

What you’ll be doing In this role, you will:

- Lead end-to-end solution architecture across WinBEAT Classic, WinBEAT NEXT and the broader broker integration ecosystem.
- Design solutions spanning application, data, integration, workflow and security architecture.
- Lead the design of integrations with insurers, Sunrise Exchange, premium funders, payment gateways, document management systems, accounting platforms and technology partners.
- Define robust and reusable API, event-driven and message-based integration patterns that support Ebix’s future API and platform-services strategy.
- Produce and govern architecture artefacts including solution designs, Architecture Decision Records, data models, API contracts, integration diagrams and non-functional requirements.
- Participate in Ebix’s architecture governance and design review processes, helping ensure important technical decisions align with our broader platform strategy.
- Work alongside development teams to improve application design, performance, scalability, concurrency, database design and query optimisation.
- Identify opportunities to reduce technical anti-patterns and improve the resilience and maintainability of our platforms.




- Contribute architectural thinking to the broader Ebix Australia, New Zealand and South-East Asia technology roadmap across WinBEAT, Sunrise, Evolution and OneOffice.
- Support customer discussions, partner engagements, pre-sales opportunities and RFP responses where architectural expertise is required.
- Help build and share architectural knowledge across the organisation, reducing reliance on individual subject-matter experts.

- What we’re looking for You’ll be an experienced technology professional who can move comfortably between strategic architecture discussions and the practical realities of software delivery.

Ideally, you will bring:

- Significant experience as a Solutions Architect, Technical Lead, Principal Engineer or similar senior technology professional.
- Strong experience designing and integrating complex enterprise applications.
- Excellent knowledge of solution and integration architecture, including APIs, integration patterns, event-driven architecture and data exchange.
- Strong understanding of modern application architecture, distributed systems and cloud-aware design.
- Practical knowledge of concurrency, asynchronous processing, performance and scalability.
- Strong understanding of relational database design, indexing, data integrity and query optimisation.
- Experience with modern software delivery practices including Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, observability and release automation.
- Experience designing and reviewing partner-facing APIs and integrations.
- The ability to produce clear architecture documentation and communicate complex concepts to technical, executive and customer audiences.




- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to guide technical teams without needing direct line-management authority.

- Experience in insurance, financial services or another regulated industry will be highly regarded, as will experience with Microsoft Azure and architecture governance or Design Authority environments. Previous experience with Ebix or WinBEAT would be an advantage, but is not essential.

A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline — or equivalent industry experience — is expected. Architecture certifications such as TOGAF, AWS or Azure Solutions Architect are desirable.
