Due to continued growth, we are seeking a skilled and motivated Welder (First Class) to join our manufacturing team in Chadwick, Western Australia.

Responsibilities

The Welder (First Class) is responsible for the fabrication, assembly, repair and maintenance of heavy transport equipment and fabricated steel components, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with engineering specifications, Australian Standards and company quality requirements.

Tasks

- Bring equipment, trailers and components into the workshop for fabrication, modification or repair.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications and cut lists to determine fabrication requirements.
- Assess fabrication and repair work and plan welding and fabrication projects accurately to ensure efficient production outcomes.
- Prepare, measure, cut, shape and align metal sections using hand tools, grinders, flame-cutting equipment and fabrication machinery.
- Perform MIG, TIG and arc welding to manufacture, assemble, repair and modify trailers, heavy transport equipment and structural steel components.
- Join metal sections using welding, bolting and riveting techniques where required.
- Inspect completed welds to ensure quality, strength,



penetration and compliance with engineering specifications.
- Finish fabricated products by grinding, cleaning and polishing to achieve a high-quality finish.
- Operate workshop equipment safely and maintain tools, machinery and equipment in valuable working order.
- Work collaboratively with the workshop team to meet production schedules while maintaining a clean, organised and safe work environment.
- Comply with all workplace health and safety procedures, company policies and quality standards.

Qualifications

- Trade qualification as a Welder (First Class), Engineering Tradesperson (Fabrication), or equivalent recognised qualification.
- Current driver's licence is desirable.

Skills

- Proficiency in MIG, TIG and arc welding techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and technical specifications.
- Strong fabrication, metalworking and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail with a commitment to producing quality workmanship.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan and prioritise fabrication tasks effectively.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety and safe work practices.

Experience

- Minimum 2 years' post-trade experience as a Welder (First Class) or in a similar fabrication role.
- Experience manufacturing, repairing and modifying heavy machinery, trailers, transport equipment or structural steel.
- Proven ability to work from engineering drawings and cut lists to produce accurate, high-quality fabrication work.
- Experience operating workshop fabrication equipment and working in a heavy engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to consistently deliver quality work while meeting production deadlines and company standards.

SALARY: $79,499 to $82,992 PER ANNUM
